I am aware of the snap oversteer with the sw20 model and the '93 suspension revision and the 250hp 3s-gte fitted on post '93 turbo models

I'm not new to cars or forums as I've restored a Mercedes 300TE recently, so I don't have to be treated as a new newbie.

You should probably know then that was written about SW's by some motor reviewer who didn't understand how to drive a mid-engined car. Some people are of the opinion that Toyota had to dumb the car down rev3 onwards for drivers who preferred training wheels.

There is no "snap" oversteer if you have grippy tyres. Mid engine is indeed a more challenging drive than FR cars when you have rock hard tyres though. Even on bad tyres, a good driver will feel the grip limit, and never get to the "snap" stage.
People blame the car when it "goes out of control". The reality is that the driver "lost control".
Welcome to MR2 ownership. We know everything here. Just ask us! 😎👍👍🤣😂

Very well stated Mr Admin. He who blames his tools ain't looking in the right place.
Ali.  About 13 PSI. is standard boost but more important is to make sure all the ignition components are right up to the job. Genuine Toyota high tension leads including the master lead. Distributor cap and rotor arm. Remove and clean the earthing point to chassis of the coil and igniter. Set the correct ignition timing AFTER bridging diagnostic port terminals. A lot of us use NGK plugs. I close the gap to  .7mm.
Enjoy the ride.

92 Hard Top
Do not drive a Mr2 like a FR car, this means no rolling through a corner like you can with a rear wheel car with front engine. You need to drive through with acceleration, never lift off power in mid corner on the limit. Again as Admin stated get Grippy tyres. Sticker the better, this is cheap insurance. Grip rating 100 - 150 depends on your budget.

Nice to see another 94 JDM turbo hardtop being restored.

You may also want to look at replacing all of your coolant hoses including two challenging ones commonly known as the hose from hell and the hose from hell on earth. At the age of these cars now most of the hoses are a ticking time bomb just waiting to burst.
