The front left hand sway bar bracket on my SW20 has parted company on one side with the strut. I don't have time until the weekend to take the strut out and see whether it is fixable (bracket is bent and one weld completely broken). I have detached the supports on both sides for now. does anyone have any positive or negative experience driving without a front sway bar???

Speaking without experience here...
No front sway bar will cause more body roll unless you counteract with stiffer springs. However since there is no torsional bar connecting the front wheels they are more independent thus you will have more available grip at the front. In other words, no more understeer woo!!!
*YMMV*

Yeah refit the sway bar as soon as you can.

I had to get both swaybars removed temporarily then drive a short distance, and my mechanic recommended to "take it easy", until they're refitted.  I guess it doesn't do the chassis any favors without the support.
