I have a brand new unopened apexi gasket here (obviously gen 3 as that is all apexi make).  1.1mm though.

Cheers,

James.

How much for it? and I will check with tuner if I can use it.

Chasing $200.  Its brand new in unopened packaging.  Long story short, when you buy one in ebay from the USA doesn't mean they have it in stock... They emailed me saying it wuold be 4-6 weeks to ship it.. I needed one ASAP so did a ring around of every US dealer to see if I could find one on the shelf.  Found one, got it sent, the other one arrived some time later.

You'll need deck height(vs piston), piston dish/dome volume, bore diameter and CC volume to calculate the actual compression ratio as installed.  Hopefully your tuner has a clue because most people don't give a $*(!.  People just base assumptions off of the CR stated on the piston box and this makes a great number of assumptions.

Head is repaired cost $200 had to reseat two valves shaved .25 thou off and ground head bolt area a little to get socket onto the ARP nuts to make life a little easer. So I will put a 2.2mm Apexi on it to be safe. Getting my head gasket from a mate http://sinergymotorsports.com.au/ Cost $350.. for 2.2mm Apexi, That's $150.00 cheaper than ebay and direct from Japan. They can get almost any Mod parts for 3sgte motors. Call and check. Just waiting to pick them up and put it back together again.

Wow... sounds a bit like what I went through not too long ago. Found a crack in one of the valve channels of my head and sourced a new one.

That means I also have a spare stock replacement head gasket sitting in the garage.
Obviously you don't need it anymore (especially a stock one from the sounds of things) but I won't be using it, so it's good to know where to get things in Adelaide.

I also got the last VRS kit in Adelaide from Precision Intl. They have plenty of individual parts for the 3S (including gen 3 head gaskets) and may be another alternative.

I have done  a lot off my own work like lapping valves in and porting heads etc. Getting a bit lazy these days. I have got solid valve buckets, I have to take my head back to a mate at Northern Machining Service for him to machine about 4 thou of three intake valve stems, that is cheaper than trying to get difference size buckets. He was also able to get me intake 2 manifold gaskets for a Gen 3 head for $25.00 as I damaged these getting it off, as I do not need a Top motor VRS kit. As most of the existing Gaskets are like new. I keep Precision Intl in my notes in case I need them. This car I am repairing has a thread called The Money Pit.  I brought this from Him. Hope to turn into a full circuit car.

Well it is up running again. Going to take to a new tuner to adjust cam gears and bring it down from 306 rwkw to about 280. I hope to get boost on earlier in rpm range. If not I tune it back to it's 306.

Spoke to tuner he believes he could get close to 400 rwkw on e85 and get my boost coming on earlier. He has 3sgte in a spinter doing 1.14 at Mallala and that's fast. How many litres of e85 will I need for MTC16?

On a relatively small engine like a 3S-GTE there'd be a good chance of breaking something before reaching 400rwkw, even if the knock limit is never reached. In some cases you can go pretty crazy with the boost and ignition timing on E85 without getting any knock, so you have to draw the line somewhere otherwise you might find a weak point in the engine or transmission due to the massive torque and/or the combustion pressures.
On the dyno my engine seemed quite happy to take even more boost and/or timing, but 353rwkw was already more than I aimed for so I decided that we should stop there. If I ever want more power, all I have to do is go back to the dyno and push the envelope of E85 just a bit further, but run the risk of finding a weak point in the engine.
