Thanks mate.
I've gone from a 20 second corolla to this though, so im still getting used to it.

Once I fix up my engine mounts, I will be back out there next month I think. (it only costs $50 per meet)

update: replacement engine mount on the way, recently purchased a new set of RE001 Adrenalins for my 16" Rays GT-Cs... so the car looks decent again

Just had some trouble with a cracked clutch line, but i got a new one made up from Pirtek for ~$40 and it's all sorted.

enjoying the dry season weather up here as well, i regularly have the roof off and cruise around in the lovely 18-26º temps!

alrighty, i've been having manifold troubles ('danger to manifold' anyone?)
the nuts on the turbo flange were coming loose, and i ended up losing two of them.

then a stud snapped.....

after working out my options (was considering just paying someone to pull the manifold off and fix the studs)
a stainless ebay manifold popped up from a local with a st185. he just had it lying around and was selling off all his bits and pieces including his car. i bought it for $50.

so now thats on. but.

the (standard) hot pipe doesn't line up with the brackets anymore. (due to one of the exhaust pipes sitting higher)
so now i need to make up some sort of bracket to secure it.

the other issue is that another pipe runs about 3mm away from the compressor outlet.
....
yeah.... need to fix that one too.

hmmm.....hopefully the manifold is somehow amazingly better than the others. but in general all the ebay manifolds crack moreso than the dumppipes.

just so you wont be surprised when it happens. mine has and tristan has heaps come thru his workshop with them cracked.

with my piping i just fitted a longer silicon section between hotpipe and turbo to push it up and away from the manifold(mine ceramic coated too) and havent bothered with any bracket. once the hose clamps are all tight it doesn't flop around at all.

the issue is the thickness of my current tubing. (standard i think)
i will get some silicone to replace it that should be much thinner.

as for the cracking, i have heard that.... but i dont think it will crack within the next 3-5 thousand km. i need to do a timing belt change within that time. (dont need to... but probably should just to make sure that the replacement engine roughly lines up with the amount of km's on the chassis)

this manifold is my best option at this time.
