You need to remember, for the majority of SW20's that are still around,  that ABS system was designed for soft stock springs, 14" wheels/ 60 profile tyres, and small (lighter) brakes.
 
So, probably not realistic to expect it to work properly with stuff like coil-overs, heavy large diameter wheels/ low profile tyres, and BB K's.

yeah thats the problem, not many sw20 are still running the stock 14s with the profile to match
and many have upgraded to the larger brakes.
the ABS sensors also could well and truly have been knackered which will result in the abs not working properly either.
