sweeetpete
I did not see the lament thread until it was locked so just wanted to put my two cents in. I had heard stories about him from some other forum guys and did not know what to expect. And have seen some crazy posts on both sides on older threads. I have only met him twice briefly but when I had the Troll problem on here he was very helpful. We talked about how I would like it managed and what he thought would be the best way to deal with it. I left it up to him and I think he took the time and made an effort to do it right. He also informed me of things as he was doing this. I think it is VERY hard to get people that are willing to spend the time to do something for nothing and I believe he has done a great job. On reading the Lament thread it also shows that he learns from his mistakes (which everyone makes) and owns up to them. Not saying he is perfect but I think he is the right man for the job.

PS: I dont have much to do with either forum as I dont own an SDUB but I did spend a lot more time on here before they were split as there was a lot more discussion and info being thrown around. Now I look in here briefly look in there briefly and move on.

Personally not a big supporter but that is for my own personal reasons as I am pretty sure he gave me negative scores quite some time ago for little or no reason.  But hey, thats me.

Thanks for your appreciation Pete. I did speak to a few people personally about dramas etc but no-one had quite the troll following that you brought home. They sure loved you, persistent ones too.

I think i probably spent too much time here, i mean there was no reason to read the forum a few times a day of course...

For sure, I think i clicked on ye' olde' thumbs down when I saw something I didn't like or didn't agree with. Thats what its for isn't it? (With the exception of purplejive - that was wrong)

So if someone said,

Personally not a big supporter but that is for my own personal reasons as I am pretty sure he gave me negative scores quite some time ago for little or no reason.  But hey, thats me.

I'd say that id give a thumbs down to someone who openly posted on a vendors forum that he had checked the source price, and that the vendor was now selling an item for higher than the vendors source price. Thats pretty worthy of a thumbs down i'd think.

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but for example, the oil pump which you've priced at $220 is $150 from lithia toyota.  I am sure even if you took 10% off and then added freight to the lithia price you'd still be ahead.

Prices just don't seem competitive.  I just went through a number of items and lithia list price was 65-70% of the pricing you've gotten consistently.

I mean, that was posted on a vendors group buy thread that the vendor went through a lot of work to organise. Poor form.

I'd probably thumbs down to street racing, burnouts, obviously bad advice and arrogance. Things we are permitted to thumbs down to, no?

Yes MRVirgin, nothing wrong with what Admin has done. Its all out there. I did what purple said i did and it was what it was. So its the right thing to keep the moderators 100% accountable.

So if it did come down to a vote thats where the judgement would be fairly passed as to if I were to be reinstated or not. Admins rules, forum quorum rules ok!

After all, it would be much easier after past glories to have a moderator status, hardly ever log in, respond to emails only when there's some pesky spamming thing, out of control abuse or just plain wrong posting wouldn't it?

I mean, like admin said, my initial selection was very controversial. A lot of the old members were furious that I was ever allowed to be a moderator at all. Gee, some of my old posts were pretty bombastic and if I weren't me - I would have doubted as well. But I held the spot for about 14 months, after James doing his lid after I posted on a topic he had closed there were no more complaints for that time period.

So as far as i'm concerned it s all good. I'm driving a n/a daily, building a hardtop turbo as a fun car. Its what this site is about.

Myself and Dylan talked about that in private.  You were just trolling.  I had no financial interest for the sale not going ahead, I don't work for nor get kick backs from Lithia Toyota.  I have used them in the past, however, and they offer good pricing, great service and quick delivery without dramas.  Dylan even quoted that he nothing to gain and the prices he quoted were the list prices he was given.  As such, I was just trying to save everyone (including Dylan) some time and money.  If anything I should be commended for my efforts.

There was a little tension from Dylan, however, that was quickly diffused by personal conversation.
