Not oil , Ive  read oil filters stuff up MAF's.
 
Cant remember what i paid. There is a Toyota dealer in Sydney that stocks them.
 

 
I chose it above the Toyota filter not for the quality but the wire reinforcement that is has considering i was going Forced Induction.

i thought that toyota mr2's had a MAP :S yea i heard bad things about MAF's and oil panels before. MANDALAY would you happen to know the part number might look for one in victoria otherwise get it posted down here.

Thanks for the opinions guys i might go with TRD parts though sounds sensible to me after hearing about the MAF sensor.

K&N filters don't stuff up MAF sensors. SOME oiled filters have been known to affect Hot Wire type AFMs thats IT. Flap type or a MAP sensor wont be affected which MR2s use. Ive been running a K&N panel on a 1MZ with a hotwire AFM close to 100000 kms and never had an issue. Too much bs going around on the net.

hmmm I'm very close to buying k&n again i've seen the price of TRD filters for other cars and it looks expensive.

bought the k&n air filter i listed above it should be sweet compared to the current filter haha

There will always be BS on the net.

I had a K & N panel filter in my '97 n/a SW20 for many years. Just took it out every 50,000 km., cleaned and re-oiled it with the special kit you can get at Supercheap Auto for around $10.   Never had a problem.
Won't give you any more power but will save you buying a Toyota one every 20,000km.
They will last forever but don't put too much oil on them. Kit instructions are very specific.
