I've always found the guys are Exhaust Bros to be pretty helpful. Also heard good things about west exhausts.
 
I'm meant to be taking my car the Exhaust Bros to get the pipes done, but haven't bothered yet.
 
I'd be hesitant to get a muffler from any of them cause it will just be some generic stuff, is your muffler rusted too or just the pipes?

Yeah got the quote done at both Exhaust Bros and West Exhausts for 1.3k. That was with the high flow cat, new pipes, muffler and tips. It's just the pipes that are rusted, guess I could just keep the current muffler so save a bit of cash?

1.3k sounds about right to me for the full set up. The pipes will be the cheapest part (other than the tips).

I've got one of the kirkosaurus.com inserts for sale if your interested. This will fit one of your front or rear engine mounts. (Be aware that some front engine mounts are different to the rear, in this case, the insert I have will always suit the rear mount).

Do you guys know what size catalytic converter is needed? 2.25 or 2.5 inch?
 
Figured if they wanted to charge me $450 for a cat I could source my own metallic 200 cell cat for a lot less and just get them to fit it for me.

That's about what a top quality 'Metal Matrix' metal cat might cost.
 
With replacement cats, be careful what you buy out of China, because there is a lot of 'knock off' rubbish around that may not be as good as your old cat.
Also many replacement cats are sold without flanges, and are shorter than the OEM cat, so flanges and pipe extensions would need to be welded on = more cost.
If you get an exhaust shop to do it you will probably need to give them your old cat to get the spacing.

Any idea on how a Magnaflow one would go? Opinions seem to be mixed on the web, but mainly on their mufflers. I figure a brand name would be better than something generic?
