I bought mine for 3300, as is, gen 2 turbo.
Plenty of problems came with it but for 3k, why not.
Overboosting, rear stop lights didnt work. Clutch was near end etc.
All fixed now -)

4. People say these are good on fuel..so i ask whats the Fuel Tank size and how many KMs you people have gotten from a standard MR2..not your 200kw+/ V6 powered MR2 lol

I recently tested my stock '90 model NA fuel consumption at:
Highway - 6.8 lt per 100km
City about 9 lt per 100km
Tank size is 55 liters, so highway trip range is 700km +
Still has the original motor that has now done 240k kms.

Last tank I worked out 12.8L/100km not driving 100% economically but not 'hooning' by any means.

That's terrible for an N/A, you MUST be revving it out a fair bit or have a hole in your tank :P

That's the problem with old age, you start to lose it.......they shouldn't be driving Porsche GT's around in your office.

Awwww....it's not too bad, I can get my folding walking frame in the boot and the missus can drive it if need be...

I used to terrify her at times on runs in the MR2 so she is getting her own back now.

Learn2Drive NA.
There is nothing wrong with the (later) NA 3S engines, they just have very different power delivery and require a different approach to driving them to get the best outta the engines.  My old 92 NA was more than capable of annoying turbocharged versions at the track based on the fact that they weigh almost 80kg less than a turbo and also don't run out of power at 6000rpm. (looks at Josh :P)

Turbos are great fun, no doubt about that, especially on the track and open roads and they don't need WOT hi-rev action to get them to poke along nicely.  NAs need to be kept 'on the boil' and that - as I have found out here around Adelaide - is more than doable on the tighter roads up in the hills.  For around town, sure they dont have the immediate kick of the turbo models but do you really need to be boosting off the lights all the time, using more gas than you would care to pay for?

Thats the other thing to consider is where you are driving it - Location.  Correct me if i'm wrong but these cars weren't really designed as city-slicking shopping trolleys from the get-go, they were designed with 'spirited' driving in mind (take that which ever way you will LOL) on the open road and tracks.

I've can see both sides of the NA/Turbo arguement mainly because i've been there before myself.  Both aspirations have their ups/downs and its really down to the owner to decide which kind of setup will benefit their intended result :)

LOL cheeky Kiwi - that CT26 nugget wont be there forever buddy :P
With the NA, hope your wrist is strong to handle all the cog swapping to keep up ;)

They still do. Work off them too, gets them through the day.....lol

The MR2 turbos have power steering, surely that helps & counts
