Dudeman
Does anyone know whats happening with the 2013 Nationals?

There hasn't been much info out for months and months, plans need to be made if regular punters like myself can have any chance of attending...

So, if I may be blunt, who can we direct inquiries to and when can we expect some info as to where and when?

Sorry if the info is out there and I have missed it, but I can't see any recent updates.

Yep it is on   but still to be confirmed, which I'm hoping to do as soon as the Track Day is booked.  Last weekend of September and first week of October 2013 (if you want to stay on for the 7 to 10 days we're planning) to fit in with the VIC/NSW school holidays.   The official MR2 Nationals 2013 will only be 3 days. Sat, Sun and hopefully a Track Day on the Monday.  We're looking at centred around Hobart to use Baskerville track on the Monday.  The optional touring around Tasmania for 7 days will follow, using as many Targa sections (be it on open roads, obeying the speed limits) as possible.  All TBC and I'll be posting more info soon!!!!

Honestly, i'd love to do it, but the extra cost of the ferry, extra time away from work, extra time for accommodation combined with the very real possibility of break down and repair or truck home has killed this one for me.

I'd consider a drive to SA or a real road trek to WA (QLD or VIC no drama) but just can't really commit to map o' TAS. I hate to be a naysayer but for me, after a lot of thought and consideration i say 'nay'.

Sorry. (I can say I have been to Hobart and would like to return, Cascade on tap there is very nice... but its a 'fly in fly out' proposition)

Just came back from hobart, pity i wasn't in the MR2. Did 2000kms from Hobart toward launceston and around again back to Hobart.
Roads are awesome (even if it was just an i20 thankfully it was manual and not many slow drivers) Place definitely worth a visit is the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania Launceston.
Cascade factory was nice :P

Qlders .We have faith in our work and its a toyota after all. Nationals last year all over Vic. NSW. high country.Great Ocean Rd. Wilsons Prom.etc.7000km.Piece of cake. Fabulous. Plenty of time to save up for Spirit .Accomodation.Drinkies.etc. Baskerville looks a bit like anti clockwise Lakeside to me. Fast and Fantastic for 2s. How could any of us afford NOT to be there. Then the Targa roads.Bonus. What an opportunity with like minded members all together on these great drives.  Cmon fellas . Lets do the MR2 Nationals proud and All make a real effort to be there in September 2013.    After all if an Irish Tasmanian can make it to the Vic. Nationals in one MR2. All by His self???    Dunno how hes gunna manage two of em for tassie but.    Gday Pat.    Looking forward to Tasmanian Nationals.

I'd agree with both comments, made buy dudeman and falcon, and again its an awesome drive.
Just a quick quote from the Spirit of Tassie - at the most basic is over $570....
Then add the number nights spent there. Accomodation alone is over $100/night per couple.

Pat wanna open your house up? we can all sleep in the living room

I have never been to Tassie and I'm absolutely looking forward to this one.
Should be a fantastic escape for a week or so.

99% sure i'll be there... the 1% doubt is if i've moved to Canada and can't make it back or i've already shipped the car...

i'll stay for the week, and probably have car and bike there just in case the car fails me. Should be able to hang out with the group and play tour guide/road guide a bit if needed.
