if you did want to paint it though, maybe consider plastidip? its pretty sweet and has that rubbery matte black finish to it

Never heard of Plastidip, know any places in Perth that would sell it?

Edit: Found a place in Coogee here that sells it, I researched the product seems all good to me. I did attempt shoe polish today out of curiosity. Works on non faded parts but for the faded marks just does the same as Maguire's just slightly darkens it.

I'll update once I use Plasti Dip. Matte black.

Brought PlastiDip today for $25.00 - Matte black.

I am very pleased about the results and will continue to do the rest of my exterior trim. I done no prep work (No sanding) I gave it a light clean with a rag, clear dust and finger prints. Due to being windy and first ever using a product like this, I had 3 attempts. PlastiDip peels off and I can start over, 3rd attempt left to sit in the sun longer then my first two attempts. Tape was removed easier when it's settled I learned. The spray can bond the tape and the trim together and when you peel the tape back, chances are it can pick up the rest of the plastic film.
