It is cool isn't it. Apparently this Fujimi model kit was made in the 80s. Everything seems to be in decent un-used condition inside.

Jay I haven't put a car together for a looong time. Maybe since I was about 10 when I used to build model aircraft as well :)

I'll keep this one complete in the box I think as it might be a semi-rare one being so old.. Would need RdS to confirm though :)
I might buy the current Fujimi AW11 kit on Ebay and build that.

More stuff arrived from OS today.

KO Racing 7.5inch intercooler fan shroud and SPAL fan. The shroud feels well made out of thick stainless and has studs sticking out of it to easily attach the fan. I'm hoping the 7.5in fan will sound less like a vacuum cleaner then the 9in does :)
Kirk AW11 engine mount inserts

I pretty much have all my bits now for another visit to the mechanic. I'll get him to do the following:
Front ball joints x2
CT20B turbo
Berk Gen3 dump pipe
Kirk engine mount inserts
Powder coat valve cover silver/grey colour
Replace hose from hell and all that stuff whilst the turbo/DP is out
Maybe replace the current hacked together 2-2.25in exhaust B pipe with some 3in mandrel bends up to the downstream cat which is connected to the HKS muffler.

* Intercooler fan/shroud will be installed and wired by myself this weekend most likely.

An old school Apexi Twin chamber BOV should be arriving this week as well which includes the MR2 hotpipe adapter. I think the factory BOV I have might not be working correctly so this Apexi will be an interesting test.

This weekend was productive again for the little adub.
Fitted the KO intercooler fan & shroud. This was a very close fit but works perfectly. Excellent suction at the side air vent.
An old school Apexi bov arrived on Friday which I also fitted. Tightened the spring up so it only goes off at highish boost levels. Pretty bloody loud though :)
I found someone online selling some 80s Toyota Auto cover fog lights. Not exactly the same as the AW11 ones but very close. For the grand total of $30 I'm not complaining haha. If anyone knows what they are from I'd be interested to know.
I'll install these next weekend when they arrive and hook them up to an Euro AW11 rear fog light switch that I'll install in the dash where the blank button is under the wiper knob.

Gave the car a much needed wash today and took a few pics.

Small update time.

I managed to make some brackets for the auto cover fog lights and got them mounted up front.  The car is filthy with bugs smashed on the front, I was too lazy to clean it prior to taking photos.

I decided to go as OEM as I could for the switch inside the cabin to operate them so I ordered a Euro rear fog light switch to take the place of the blank button my car had below the wiper knob. Looks great and functions as it should. Small light works when activated etc.

The other job I completed recently was to remove the (JDM only I think) speed chime. This device makes a chiming sound constantly when you exceed 103kmph. This bothered me when I drove down the coast a while ago as it was going nuts for well over an hour. Here's a pic of what it looks like if anyone is interested. It simply unscrews from a couple of terminals and can be put back if required.

And yes one the next items that needs attention is the front spoiler :) I'll replace both and paint them up.

looking great!
A new front lip will look fantastic on the car. The late model lighter-silver two-tone really does look nice..

Haven't updated this thread for a while prob due to the fact I haven't really done anything to the car :)
Been spending all my spare time car shopping to replace my Wife's Saab which is trying its very best to go to car heaven (I keep fixing it though)

Anyway a car has been chosen so I've spent the last few days pulling out anything decent stereo wise from it before we hand it over to the stealership as a trade. I installed Infinity Kappa speakers in it ages ago along with an amp and quality 12" sub.

My AW11 became the proud owner of some Infinity Kappa 3.5" 2Ohm speakers to go in the rear speaker locations. The old almost completely stuffed AW11 speakers now live in the front of the Saab :) And sound terrible.

Now all I need is some bass haha.

I have a pile of cool bits ready to go on the car CT20b, Berk DP, Kakimoto SW20 3" Zorst, Kirk mounts etc. Once I stop spending money buying accessories and wheels for the new car I'll put the AW11 in to get these parts installed.
