Oh really? :((
What should it be at?
200?
185 is still good across all 4aslong as the numbers are all within the same kind if area.

Maybe ill double check it. Swear it was 85 could have been 95 it was a while ago

^no idea mate look in the BGB... but mine could be higher due to carbon etc. ;)

That's what I thought 185 sounds high for a turbo
I thought they would be like 160ish
Guys were saying mine was a little high even

You don't happen to have a link to the bgb I don't have one on hand :(

Ill be joining the turbo club in a few months :))

Yup thats why it drives smooth off boost, but gotta keep a lid on the boost though :P

For a Gen3 NA, I'd stop @ intake, headers & exhaust. Cams, ecu etc is just not worth it.

I do know of a little trick the Japs do though, they put a spacer on the plenum (increasing its volume) & get a few extra ponnies. Not much, but that's cheap/easy to do. Stock ecu can handle all that.

Or, you can just use the plenum top from a 3SGE powered RAV-4 :)

Actually NA 3S should be lower - 178 psi. Mine old one was 185-195 like yours prob due to carbon. The beams would be closer to 200 psi.
I think greytop can be swapped in cheaper but yes redtop would be better since it has the extractors.
Gates I thought I sent you the link to the BGB already? Anyways here it is if anyone wants it (also includes gen 2 3SGE). I also has Gen 3 NA

Road and Track
there is an article on my web site about tuning 3SG's.
many of the power claims made by folk for simple changes, cannot be backed up with dyno tests. i have my own dyno so when i quote a value, it's based on fact
if you have to pay someone to do the work, then your choices will be goverened by your budget
any comprehensive rebuild of a 200000km old engine, with upgraded forged pistons, better cams etc will be $4k + for engine alone.  The price is much the same for NA or turbo engines, with NA slightly dearer due to special pistons needed
turbo swaps are only sensible if you have a half-cut. even then expect to pay someone around $2500 to do the job + half cut price
Fitting a later BEAMS 3SG is a great conversion , but again expect to pay around $3000 to do the job + half cut price
A drive-in drive out 2GR V6 converion is the ultimate

Yeah mine was like 184 did a comp test last night on the too cylinder and 182 on lowest :)
But every second oil change I use that engine detox really good stuff.

Mrturbo nah just going to buy a turbo model :)
And have two
Then most likely sell one of them :) probably the Na :)

Yeah tree I just found it :p
