Hi everyone,
When I wind down my drivers side power window, the glass drops to the point where I think its not going to catch.

Scared me as I thought it was going to shatter.

The window winds up fine for now with a few noises..Any idea what part gave up?

If so where can I source it from and can I do it myself?

Thanks heaps in advance

If it still winds up (sort of) it might be the regulator, pretty common for the mounts that bolt up to the door frame to crack and it to be loose inside the door.
The window could also have popped out of one of the tracks, but if it winds back up to close to it's normal location it would likely be the regulator.

You could go to Toyota and get charged a heap, find one second hand (forums, wreckers etc) or weld your existing one.

Best to take off the door trim and confirm exactly what is going on before handing over any $$ though.

Been reading up on all the info you gave me, thanks heaps for that. At least now I have an idea once I pull my door trim out.

Cheers

+1 for regulator. Very common problem with cars of this age. I've replaced mine & keep a spare handy
