Bit of an update.
I've pulled the turbo out and discovered it just happens to be a Garrett GT3582R core with CT26 housings. Go figure. That's one bloody big turbo....
One thing i'd love to do is change the compressor housing to something slightly bigger (much later down the track) I'm guessing that won't be too easy to do though.
Garrett have a ball bearing exchange program for their CHRAs... so i'm enquiring about that. One price comparison I saw was $1100 new CHRA vs $400 exchange CHRA.
I think i'll be sticking with getting this turbo fixed up (however that happens)
