I've started driving my MR2 after a long while in the shed, I have Tein Coilovers fitted, everytime I go over some sort of bump in the road I hear a real "bump" noise coming from the front end, well at least it would seem as if it was coming from the front end, Front end left hand side, I thought it might have been the mesh in my aftermarket front bar banging but i've just secured it well so it doesn't budge and took it out for a quick spin and it's still doing it, it's a deeper "thud" sound, Any ideas where to start to check?

Hi, thanks for the messages, Scott the sway bar linkages are only a 2k's old on the front end they are basically new could they fail that quickly do you think? at a visual inspection they appear to be ok I don't drive excessively, dasic1 The tein's have have pillow tops fitted is there a way to test if they have had it?

Just to add, I've tested all four corners front and rear for horizontal or vertical movement by moving the wheels by hand and there doesn't appear to be any movement so I'm it would appear ball joints/wheel bearings are ok..

Also the "thud" noise doesn't appear to be dependent on speed, it happens going 80km over a bump in the road and driving into my uneven driveway at 5kmph.

Im not sure how they are tested, maybe someone else knows

I've been having a knocking sound coming from my front suspension, and it is noticeable at different speeds too.

I had Pedders check all suspension on the car said they said that it was in great condition, the only thing they couldn't check was the shockie mounts.......I think that's what Dasic1 is referring to??

Toyota have also told me that it is common for them to fail......and after 19 years its probably time to replace them.....nothing lasts forever.
