Hey guys,

Its that time in every little Queensland boys life when he is about to come off his green P's and become one of the boys on their opens.

I currently drive a sw20 with 3s-ge (non japan import).

The dream is to have around 250-300 hp.

I'm looking for opinions, As i'm not sure where to start? All i know is i want to supercharge it not go down the turbo road.

Regards Fraser

Start by working out your budget.(ie money that you dont mind having very little chance of getting back)

This car is my hobby and my daily and weekend track car. I understand the loss that it'll make but I want to do most of the mod'ing myself so in my eyes no real loss. At the moment i'm looking at what order i start at. So do i need to find a turbo diff and gear box so when i start adding power the car still moves. Or am i looking at going forged pistons, etc so that when the super goes on theres not lots of smoke and fire :P Probs looking at 10k over 2 years?

Could do something different like supercharging a v6.

Most of the international crew chasing big hp have been going for 2gr's.

But if you really want a sc go for it. Id love to see a sc v6

scz
No matter which way you go, the end result will be dependant upon the dollars you wish to part with. Skimping on transmission etc will, eventually, leave you stranded on the side of the raod somewhere. And always when you REALLY want to be somewhere else! Do a good job & it will have the reliablilty you have grown used to.

just put a v6 in it and have fun, sell the mr2 when you have the cash for something better

i'd like to see a stroked 3s with a PD charger. something nice and different.

turbo gearbox upgrade is easy enough, nor particularly expensive.

may be worth while buying a turbo halfcut then adding a SC, that way you get everything you need for the gearbox etc and you have a low comp motor to run higher boost and the inj's and ecu to cope.

there are many ways to go about it. varying degrees of difficulty and expenditure.

Speed is just a question of money, how fast do you wanna go?

(bonus 100 internets if you know where that quote comes from)
