Hi.
I'm about to do a water pump / timing belt change and am wondering the best brands for the two as well as other parts for a full service which I will need.
I'm getting terrible fuel consumption so going to be also changing over the oxy sensor as it looks in terrible shape and is probably causing the issues.
Again, any brands to recommend as well as where to get them?

Thanks guys appreciate it.

I stick to genuine items with those things.
Lithia Toyota in the states are another option

water pump/TB - +1 go genuine - Lithia Toyota is your friend.
bought my turbo O2 sensor from Supercheap auto - ACA branded but it's made by Denso (OEM).

unplug your O2 sensor, see if it changes anything. chances are it won't.

what gen 3sgte and what ecu? for gen2 most commen issue to effect fuel economy is the AFM, CSI or CSI timing switch.

OEM Toyota for the water pump.

Timing belt: Gates make a good one, but can't really go wrong with OEM.

O2 sensor should make a difference if he's in closed loop a lot...
CSI should only be active while cold cranking
Probably been mentioned before but check for vacuum leaks and if ignition components (leads, plugs etc) are OK.

If the csi system is fualty then it may be staying on when it shouldnt. Obv if its working as it should be it wont be an issue, same with everything else.

With O2 sensor, I run without and am cruising/closed loop most of the time without any economy issues.

I agree the oxygen sensor does very little for fuel economy. Run without mine for ages without any noticeable difference.

Even if I unplugged it and nothing happens what would that exactly show me, that it does nothing or that it isn't working at all and makes no difference if I use it or not?
It's a  1991 Gen2 GT Import.
Cheers
