I'm 6'3"/6'4", and as my wanted thread might suggest, I'm looking to buy an MR2 AW11, will i actually fit? i fitted into my 84' Celica Supra alright, better so than my 2000 Ford AUII ute, so is anyone here around that height that owns an adub? should be fantasizing about another car due to my height?

edit: upon a 2 second google, the answer is yes it would seem. mods feel free to delete, lock or what not.

cheers.

I am 6'5" and I drive one fine. That said I only fit because I have an aftermarket 350mm steering wheel with long boss and a custom 20mm spacer.

My dad is 6'4" and he can just drive it with 350mm wheel and normal boss kit. You can forget about driving one with a stock wheel unless you are tall with short legs and long body. I have long legs.

I don't think you'll he comfortable in it. I'm almost 6'2 and my head almost touches the roof of my targa top. I kinda drive it hunched forward a bit.
What part of the country are you in? Maybe someone here can let you test one?

They feel very small inside :)

with a change to the seat and steering wheel i'm sure you could make it more comfy!

It depends on your torso:leg ratio.

I work with a bloke same height as me, he cant get into my SW as his head hits the roof, I can't fit into his tiny little datto ute, can't get my legs under his steering wheel. We are both around 6'3''

Like the above posters say, try one out for size. That or suss out one of the really nice SW's that are for sale...

sunroof model - no chance
hardtop - most likely
targa- will need to drive with the targa shade out.

worst comes to worst you can get a low mount seat rail and aftermarket seat.
But as above sit in one and see.

im 6"0, but long in the torso and have to drive with the targa shades out, as my car has heavy spring rates, and I had dislodged the shade a few times while driving.

You will fit.

I am/was the same height as you but have the added complication of a severe disability in later life which makes getting in and out of my beuatiful AW11 S/C a bit tortuous, but once I am in its nice and cosy. One factor the other posters haven't mentioned because its a bit PC, but body mass will also make it easier or harder. If you are fit and trim then really no worries, but if you are considering going on The Biggest Loser as your next career move then there could be tears. I am about half way in between.

I have fitted the legally smallest steering wheel which has a flattened bottom on the rim and this makes it easier. Also, if the car is a "Limited" the seats will have a range of adjustments including the front swab. I turn mine down to get in and out. The seats are great actually and they hold you in position well.

The poster who mentioned looking at an SW20 also made a good suggestion. Even though the AW11 is taller than the later model, the SW20 has just that extra amount of interior room to make it much more comfortable for larger drivers. Shows what an influence the American market can have on model development. That, and supersizing at Macca's. :-) :-)

All the points made by the posters are good ones, but the best advice given is to try one out and see.
