Trying to remove the 1990 bootlid spoiler, its full of water! I have removed the nuts from inside the boot and I know there are a couple of clips holding the spoiler in place. To release the spoiler from the clips on the bootlid, do I lift the spoiler up vertically from the lid or pull horizontally backwards or push horizontally forwards?

5) Shut the boot

6) You will find that the centre section of the spoiler is still held in with two clips, you will need to pull the spoiler very gently away from the boot lid to shift these. If you yank at the spoiler you will rip these clips off so be gentle (If you still have no idea what I mean see the picture below)
 
Pictures don't seem to load, but there is two clips on either end of the spoiler. Best way was to close the boot and pull directly up. I remember I had a friend on the other side and pulled up so as not to damage the clips.
