Trying to locate a workshop manual with mechanical and electrical contents. I have a Sept 1996 SW20 with the Gen4 3sge N/A engine, well that is what I am lead to believe? If anyone has a link or knows where I can get a detailed repair manual that would be great. I have the earlier manuals which are easy to find online but some of the wiring especially ECU wiring is slightly different and of coarse engine mechanicals are similar but also a little different in some key areas. Any info would be appreciated.

You would have the Gen3 3sge motor. (94-98)
A Gen4 would be a BEAMS.(98+)
There is a download available from the tech section on this forum for the Gen3 engine service manual.

Cheers, thanks for that. Have looked and found it in the tech section and it all looks good even the wiring for the ECU, I was pretty sure it was the Gen3 engine but there is still a couple of little differences, oil squirters for pistons and crankshaft/cam gear teeth pitch. I have had a hell of a time just trying to source the correct timing belt, oil pump and water pump as I want to replace the drive gears as well. Anyway thanks for the info.

Yes there are small but important variations between the different generations of the 3s motors.

As for the oil squirters I am not sure about the gen3 3sge motor, but do I know that some gen2 3sge motors have them and some don't.
However I believe that all the 3sgte motors have them.

And yes, the gen2 and gen3 T/belts are one tooth different.

I would suggest you contact Road and Track (forum sponsors) for timing gear end stuff.
They are familiar with all gens of these motors and can supply you with the correct parts for your motor. But I would advise you to phone them for quick service rather than post up.

Thanks for the feedback, that is whats so good about our aussie forums, straight to the point mate and no soapboxing from people who think they know what their talking about, cheers.
