I haven’t been able to start the car for a couple of weeks now and I cant figure out why. Two things I have done that might have affected this 1) I removed the resonator from the intake and maybe disturbed something 2) I let rain get in the engine bay (yes I know Im an idiot already!)
I have checked the following:
- I checked all the vacuum hoses, connectors etc and seem to be intact. On cranking it is totally dead, doesnt cough or splutter at all.
- It has spark and will splutter a bit with' start you b*stard', but otherwise it wont give any sign of life at all besides cranking.
- I bridged Fp and +B on the diagnostic port, cant hear fuel running through the rail or the fuel pump running in the fuel tank.
- I have powered the fuel pump via the connector and can definitely hear it running in the tank.
- I have checked all the relays and they seem to be functioning properly.
- No fault codes via the check engine light
So it seems there is no power getting to the pump. Im pretty sure though that I cant hear fuel through the rail either when I power the pump, but it’s a bit hard when my wife is nagging in my ear while I ask her to help me with this stuff. I could replace the fuel filter and do all the tests in the manual but before I do I think I need to focus on the issue with the pump.
Any suggestions (besides getting rid of the nagging wife)?
