Hi just bought a sw20 couple weeks ago and last night I was trying to take my wheels off and the nuts on there are the Allen key type ones. The nuts are done up way too tight and i ended up snapping my tool in there. I tryed drilling a hole and screwing a self tap bolt then slide hammering the broken piece out, didn't work. Ive also tryed welding the snapped bit on the nut and cracking it but i ended up braking the weld off. I have to get the wheels off to change tyres next week because Im up for rego very soon. Any ideas how i can get these wheels off without damaging the stud too much? Evan if i have to damage my rims i dont really care because i have a set in my garage that I can put on.

no sure if itl work, but maybe try and get a new lug, that way you can drill through the lug that the nut is stuck on and grind off the head so it comes out as you take the wheel off???

Have you tried penetrene, the nut may be rusted on.  Or try heating (oxy or lpg flame) the broken nut, expansion and contraction may loosen it.

Loctite Freeze & release. (@ Repco or similar) May need a couple of goes and some time.

IF none of the above suggestion work, it probably means that the lug nut and/or stud is cross-threaded, probably from someone using a rattle gun carelessly. In that case you would have to replace the wheel stud.

Thanks guys ill try them out tomorrow hopefully the nut will come off ill post a few pictures up. Im thinking someone has rattle the nuts on too tight
