Late update but got my GTR wheels back from powder coaters. Metropolis Metalic Bronze. Looks awesome!

Thanks to Lumix for these photos!

Wrapped them in some Nexen N6000's. was hesitant about the brand at first but they are grippier that my 505's I had previously, especially in the wet!

The weight reduction in the wheels makes a MASSIVE difference and the GTR wheels look really tough, completes the "knight rider" look as my friends call it. The other benifit is that the wheels already have compensation for a big brake upgrade in future as they came off a car that had massive brakes already :P

And now that the car is a weekend car, it spends its days on charge in the garage, waiting for that next glorious drive ;)

More updates soon!

Looks great like that. With those rims, it'd probably suit better if you painted the front lip rather than fitted/painted the kit.

My front lip is the rubber type and has cracked lot so the painter didnt want to paint it as it would crack as soon as it flexed, he reccomended continuing to plasti dip the lip until i get a fiberglass one

As for body kits, i wouldn't mind having a nice subtle side skirt and some small rear pods. but dont want anything too extravagant. just want to cover up the seam under the side of the car really

Went to the auctions yesterday with Doug (falcon) and wanted to see the going price for aurions, camrys and avalons.

Might have accidentally bought one too :P

Thoroughly inspected the car with Doug before I bought it but this has to be one of the cleanest ones arround (well before the accident obviously)

The engine is completely stock and has been toyota serviced all its life. Its an 02 Avalon Sorrento with only 90,000kms on it and a lovely 1mz non vvti auto. Everything is well maintained and it even has the original spare wheel which has never been used.

The aircon and cruise control still work too! Stat write off obviously but the plan is to strip the motor, electronics and gearbox then part the car out and try to recuperate some funds.

The plan with the motor is to simply prepare it for storage and begin collecting and saving up for the parts required. plan is forged pistons and rods + boost = fun. I know there was obviously the 2gr option but I really would like to build my own engine, and also have a turbo.

Will have to grab some engine bay photos tomorrow, but in the mean time if you want anything pm me ;)

more progress today. motor out and car stripped down. Thanks to Danny and elliot for the help once again!

And off came the rocker cover and wow. looks amazing insided! original engine too from what I know

Not a single bit of sludge or buildup. pitty it will all be getting rebuilt... so clean already
Also discovered some rats have been having a good time on the loom, only one wire luckily

Engines now on the stand with no harness on it. still 12ish months till the motor will be going in, but plenty to do in the mean time. now all I need is an empty half cut and a welder.... Anyone keen to help me out with the halfcut ahah?
