So what callipers are used in the above? I have thought about these upgrade kits, I have an JDM gen3 would I bet better off keeping my callipers and just running bigger discs? Or should I be looking for new calipers?

Zvargulis Check out the website www.deltav.com.au
Qld club members swear by the kits as a massive improvement in braking under harsh conditions such as the track.
Ultimately you need to match any braking system with good pads designed for the conditions you put them under.

Gen 3 calipers, so the same as what you have.

Supra front rotor kit. RX8 rear

So you have the option of using what you have or you could go nissan fronts, up to you..

How does the additional unsprung mass affect the handling of the car?

Zvargulis:- Kris and Tony have covered it with regards to the picture you were referring to.

The kit fitted to Kris' car above is:-

* JZA80 Supra 324mm rotor and your factory callipers on the front
* RX8 Sport 323mm rotor and your factory callipers on the rear

Knightrous:- Obviously have driven lots of different SW20's over the years but the way the extra weight affects the handling depends on the cars setup. Not every car has lightweight wheels and a small tyre. The adapter kit weights are listed on the first page of this thread and are lighter than other similar kits available as we use 7075-T6 for our adapters.

I think people who have the kits themselves should comment more about this as they would have a good gauge of their own vehicles. (making sure they list if they have the old steel brackets or 7075-T6 versions)

You can buy aluminium bell discs for the Supra and RX8 that can reduce the weight further.

Happy to answer any other questions people may have.
