The idea with the flex is you use what ever petrol you want/ can get

Ok, so the computer adjusts the tune according to the ethanol content in the fuel.
Thats the best way to go.

I dont see any downside to this plan.
Just do it while you have the car apart, you will only regret later if you dont.

Yeah my ECU can automatically adjust to varying ethanol content (ie. Flex-Fuel).

At least 3 people have said 'just do it', and I'm thinking the same thing. I probably will regret it later if I don't do it now.

I just did it.

I've officially added a RacerX fuel rail kit with ID2000 injectors to my RacerX order.
There will be no turning back now!

I'll regret the extra hassle during the upgrade process, but I would regret it a lot more if I decided to do this later.

have you checked out AI for pumps and setup. ill prob go with these guys when i upgrade. good Aussie products.
i have an intank walbro and was going to upgrade to an external but use the walbro as a lift pump and run a bosch 044 external with a surge tank. the oval one they sell can handle the extra pressure from the walbro.

I'll take a look at the AI website, cheers.

I was just thinking, this whole process is going to provide some really useful before-and-after results for all to see...
Once my intake manifold and W2A intercooler system are all updated, I'll get a dyno tune on premium 98 fuel first, to see the difference that those mods make without E85. The fuel system and injectors will already be updated by that stage too, but that will be irrelevant until the next step.
I'll drive the car like that for a few weeks or months before finally getting a tune on E85 to see the benefits of adding ethanol without changing anything else mechanically.
Both of those dyno tunes will be necessary for a proper Flex-Fuel setup anyway. I'll post them up in this thread when the time comes. I might to try to overlay them with my existing dyno graph too, making a total of 3 dyno results for comparison.
