You might not have to modify the throttle cable going Side feed. I didn't have too.

That's good to know! I suppose it makes sense, as it would no longer have to reach over the top of the IC piping as mine currently does.

In regards to the throttle body my car managed 316KWs with the stock gen 2 55mm throttle body.
If I kept the car longer I would have changed it to a larger one (Gen3 60mm or Mustang type 70-75mm)

It's good to know that your 316kw was achieved with the same 55mm TB that I have.
*EDIT*: after some recent research, I want to choose from one of these 3 options:
- Have my stock 55mm gen 2 TB bored out (maximum 58.5mm according to 'Maxbore', ie. 13% increase in area), OR
- Swap to a gen 3 60mm TB (19% increase in area), OR
- Convert to Mustang 65mm TB (40% increase in area)

I'm starting to like the idea of a gen 3 TB because it would be the cheapest upgrade, and 19% is enough of an area increase without making the throttle too twitchy at low throttle opening.

Great idea moving the car, I've thought about putting mine in storage but not sure if id trust it

Mrskylighter
I had my car in storage once, some pricks broke in and stole heaps from multiple storage units including mine. They took the Sony DVD/AV deck from my car and thats about it fortunately. The cameras recorded the event but didn't help locate the thiefs.

Yeah it's so frustrating, you can't win hey, whether it's a 'secure carpark', or a lock-up garage or whatever, they can all be beaten by a f**king thief :-(
Cameras are better than nothing, but they can't really prevent thefts, they can only help to resolve them afterwards, and probably not very often.
I'm going to be moving in the next few months, and this time my top priority is to have a suitable place to garage my car, in the same building where I live (instead of 15-20 mins drive from where I live!)
I've accepted that nothing can be totally secure, but I think I would still go for an individual lock-up garage, for convenience. It's funny how much I envy people with their own lock-up garage where they live, which seems like such a simple/given thing...until you have to live without one! lol

Scary to hear about the close call. My German Shepherd guards my MR2 while I'm away. About as good as it gets, although I honestly care more for my dog's well-being than my MR2 being stolen

+1 to locked up garage esp at night...i know how much we all love our MR2s... even if they are insured at the end of the day :)

Good work Rob.  Sounds like a lot of work ahead for you and the guys at MRC but will all be worth it.
Are you going to post a thread with pics for it?

It will be a fair bit of work, but nothing compared to all the work MRC did the first time around.

I'll post progress pics in this thread as always   *EDIT* maybe not as many progress pics as previously, because I no longer work in the same building as MRC!

The stock intake plenum (it's volume and shape) is designed for the power delivery of the stock engine and turbo, but it is far from ideal for a highly modified engine with a bigger turbo. I was silly not to upgrade it the first time around, because almost every other part of my engine has been modified.
Anyway, this RacerX manifold should give me more top-end power with a minimal impact on the mid-range.

Outstanding power from your engine modifications.  Car looks very smart.
Just curious are you still running the stock 3STGTE distributor, rotor and cap. Looks from the pictures I have seen you might still be using spark plug leads.
Cheers

Thanks mate.
Yeah I still have the stock distributor (with new spark plug leads just because I wanted them to be black), and it handles 267rwkw @ 20psi with no trouble at all.
