Thought you had an LSD box. Since you don't, it's a blessing in disguise.

Did it get all that power down ok with the open diff though ? predictable?
I find my car (open) with a relatively stock motor has trouble sometimes with 595 RS-Rs on the back... :/

If I floor it in 1st gear with the car pointing straight ahead, the tail sometimes starts to go sideways immediately, and it freaks me out having that thought in the back of my mind when driving through twisties lol. It's easy to correct, but if I had an LSD it probably wouldn't happen in the first place.

Certainly don't bother with the current box anymore. The newer revised boxes/synchros should be bliss. If you want to have the box looked over before you install it, I can put you in contact with my gbox rebuilder (Gearbox Express).

Hey Rob, don't place too high hopes on how the LSD box will operate under your power - I only say this as I've got the LSD Box and even with my stock gen 3 power, on wet roads it'll go sideways with BOTH wheels spinning if I mash the accelerator in first gear.

I had the previous gearbox without LSD when I had the N/A engine, and it tended to spin up one wheel when pushed hard around corners or take-offs.

Don't get me wrong, the LSD box is AWESOME as you get power to the ground better around corners and takeoffs and would reccomend anyone with an MR2 turbo to get one - but you still can go sideways when pushed (especially with your power too).

Yeah don't worry, I wouldn't rely on the LSD to do what my open diff can't. I'm used to having an open diff, and even with an LSD I would still drive very cautiously in the wet as I always have.
In the dry the LSD would be great compared to the open diff though.

I dont find it that easy to break traction in the wet, with stock gen3 power.
Yes it will break traction in first and second but you have to be really hammering it.
In the dry it is glued to the road.

A few pics of this black beauty from the MR2 karting day. Have sharper higher res versions if you want.

Thanks Jay!!
The PP rear corners have been fitted since then, and the exhaust tips have changed.
I look forward to having some more nice photos taken very soon, hopefully with Work Equip wheels

Will happily do a proper photoshoot to honour those changes since I helped initiate them.

The karting venue wasn't ideal @ all for those pics. I have a few nice clear areas that'll suit your black car very well.
