I followed the same thread when I changed mine over to LED and did it with no trouble at all, it's pretty easy to do

Cool, did you use the same WLED-x5 LEDs from SuperBrightLeds ?

Nah, I got mine from Garage1217
http://store.garage1217.com/custom-twist-socket-aluminum-ringed-high-output-bulb.html

Just a suggestion, if your interested in Aluminium dial rings maybe you could get a set and install them at the same time to save you having to pull the dash apart twice

Thanks for the info, and nah I don't want dial rings.

Crisis averted. Bionikal explained how to get a very white illumination rather than lavender.

So you have white LEDs too?
Bionikal said you can sand the back of the cluster to remove the purple from the transparent layer, and if you end up with 'hotspots' you can do something as simple as attaching paper in that area to 'dim' the illumination while keeping it white.

Yep, got mine through the group buy a few months back.

The LEDs were very white when i test powered them before installing them in the cluster but once installed it gave a violet/purple tinge

Just got a few goodies from Dylan!

Omori Electronic Boost Gauge:

To my pleasant surprise, the place that sold it to Dylan also provided a dimming circuit with it (it's inside the black flat thing with the 3 wires coming out of it).

Also, a cluster with TRD 300km/h speedo:

This means that my existing cluster (with mechanical 180km/h speedo) will probably be for sale very soon. If anyone is interested let me know.

My white LEDs were shipped from the US today too, so they should arrive any day now.

The TRD speedo is mechanical.
The Omori boost gauge is electronic.

I think Dylan has another cluster with the mech TRD speedo, and I think he had an elec one too.

I just had a look at the dimmer circuit that was supplied with my Omori boost gauge, and it makes no sense to me at all, so I won't be using it. I'll either use a simple resistor, or cogs' proper dimmer circuit.
