Thanks mate, it's very intentional even on the interior for the most part!

Rob, mate that looks absolutely freaking fantastic! I'm especially impressed with the use of black paint and hoses etc instead of the usual blue / red / whatever that always looks so tacked on. Tho a guy with your level of attention to detail i should expect this sort of beautiful result. Reminds me of some of the photos of your model car engine bays you showed me :) Cant wait to see it!

+1

The engine bay is looking purpose built, not an ounce of rice to be seen. Of course with that exhaust manifold it wouldn't matter what else is in there, it'd still look great!!

Keep the pics coming, and keep up the top notch work.

[:I] Thanks cogs! I've put almost as much focus on the overall appearance of the engine bay as I have on the performance. That wasn't the original plan, and it did add to the cost (for example, the motivation behind some of the ceramic coating is 90% appearance and 10% performance), but it makes the whole rebuild process seem more worthwhile when the engine bay looks good

Very cool build! I like your attention to detail! this car will be a weapon when its all done.
[:x)]

You WILL want a Quaife, trust me (and Senol)! an open wheeler p1sses me off now and my engine is fairly standard...the novelty of smoking up one wheel all the time and stodgy handling under power does wear off!! lol [:p]

Remember: A good LSD should be on top of your list as you add more power to the car. You want to put that power down on the pavement, don't you?

I can't remember if I mentioned this already, but I lose my license for 6 months on the 26th of this month, and I'm going to be lucky to even drive my MR2 before then [8~2] I certainly won't be able to do anything more than the boring run-in period with minimal boost. I knew the license suspension was coming (I delayed it for as long as I could by waiting for a penalty reminder notice before paying the fine lol), and I was in the middle of a 2 week Japan holiday when my mechanic was ready to put the engine back in, and I hadn't sorted out the LSD at that point, so I had to tell him to put the engine in straight away rather than wasting time waiting for an LSD to arrive etc. So, basically my mech is trying to get my car ready to be run-in before the 26th, but it's still quite possible that there won't be enough time.
At least I'll have 6 months to fully dyno tune the car, and fit my Phoenix Power rear corners and Aeroware lip when it arrives! I might buy a Quaife LSD and have it fitted during that time too. I'll also have plenty of time to give my car an awesome wash and detail, so I can at least enjoy looking at the car haha.
I might also take it to the track during that time, if possible.
