Make sure braided lines are not going to rub anywhere as they are VERY good files.
Don't forget to put the dipstick back in :P

Is the Drivers side HE water hose missing the IC pipe bracket edge?

+1 looks good

Cheers Greg.
So it's typical to retain the stock cross brace regardless of whether an aftermarket one is fitted? The reason I ask is because there is less than 10mm between the Full Race exhaust manifold and the brace, which isn't really enough when the engine vibrates (but having said that, if I put an aftermarket brace under it then that may raise it enough anyway).

When you said "Is the Drivers side HE water hose missing the IC pipe bracket edge?", I had to read it a few times to understand what you meant. I'll check tomorrow.

it all depends on what brace you buy, trd is a thicker cross brace. cusco depending on what you chose can have both stock and after market fitted all depends on what you want to buy

You can always fit a spacer between the brace and the strut tower for more clearance. Putting engine mount inserts or stiffer mounts will also help with minimising movement too.

On your license, you can always trailer the car to the track and go cruising for the day! EVO65 is involved with Driving Solutions Track Days at EC. They do not have timed sesssions at their track days so you can stay out for as long as you like. Just put a 'running in'sign on the back, and cruise the creek for the day.

Looks great. Exciting times for you. With a healthy ignition system & correctly gapped plugs, you shouldn't need to go CDI. As for the X brace, I removed mine simply cos it wouldn't fit. Not really fussed, feels no different, not surprising cos the oem brace doesn't seem to be that strong. Have a Cusco brace too though.

Steve and Jay, thanks for the tips, those are the sort of answers I was hoping for.

I have definitely considered the idea of taking my car to the track and drags a few times while my license is suspended, because cars like to be driven at least occasionally! One of my contacts from work has organised a private track day at Wakefield in November, with timed laps, so I may do that (he organised a similar day at Oran Park last year which I really enjoyed).

Mark, I may take you up on that offer because I will still need a way of getting my car to track days lol.
I'm sure that many people would jump at the opportunity to 'help me' drive my car places [:P] such as monthly meets or track days, but on the other hand some people may be too scared of crashing my car!
For track days I could always just hire a car trailer depending on the situation.

I'm happy to drive it for you, or I have a good contact for car trailers.

I assure you, I'm not at all scared of driving a car like yours (not even scared of mine). I'm more scared it'll fail & catch fire while I'm behind the wheel. I have bad luck sometimes....lol

Fear is directly proportional to pressure of the right foot.

Disagree. Fear is directly proportional to the throttle rotation of your right hand [;^)]

Besides, you could give the right foot of Hyundai Excel all the pressure you want, the only way you'll ever get scared is if you're about to hit an expensive car stopped at the lights in front of you
