Hmmmm. I had no intention of coating the exhaust manifold because it looks so good as it is, but today my mech suggested coating it (chrome like the intake manifold, or black) because he said it will eventually go a brown kinda colour otherwise. I don't know if I want to coat it though. Black would be good to match the ongoing theme, but right now the exhaust manifold is the standout item on the engine and I don't want to spoil that. Plus, it's the one thing that I'm happy to break the black/polished theme with, because it's my favourite part of the whole engine bay.
In this pic (from the Full Race website) it looks a bit brown, but maybe that's just the lighting:

If that IS the brown colour that my mech was referring to, then I like it anyway.

I'd protect the water hose in the last pic with a sleeve or wrap of some sort,
things get real hot around there.
just to make it last longer.

I'll mention it to my mech. He probably was going to anyway, but I'll check.

it will go the same bown colour as my cat did. whuich is a ..hey is that rust? sort of a brown.. even though its stainless.

if its stainless (sort of looks like it might be), you could try sanding it for a satin brushed stainless look?

otherwise, i would be inclined to coat it like you intake manifold, will look good i reckon, silver, black, silver. from intake, valve cover, exhaust.

either way, looks unreal!!

Just checked on the Full Race website again and yes it's stainless steel.

If it would stay the current colour forever I would certainly leave it because I think it's a really awesome colour, but I'll give some thought to the coating idea. I'll be annoyed at myself if I decide to coat it, because I could have had it done by Full Race before they sent it, and they already coated the dump pipe too!

I can't decide whether I would want black or silver coated, what are everyone's thoughts on that? I need help deciding (that's if I coat it at all). I'm inclined to leave it un-coated anyway because I prefer the bare colour, and it will stay that way for a little while at least before it starts to tarnish.

if you were going to coat it, i think there is no question about what colour to paint it. ceramic silver; for sure.

If you like the colour of it as it is now, it should just get slightly darker with age, but still have that nice, browny/bronze stainless look.

On my old exhaust, one bends was stainless near the muffler(rest was mild steel), after 4 yrs or so, the mild steel looked rusty, but the stainless was just a darker colour. Your manifold would obviously get hotter than the bend on my exhaust, so may age a little differently, but i wouldn't imagine it would be vastly different.

Cheers
