excuse my ignorance, but if the the gen2 thottle bodies are the same size, and the only difference is the early turmpet flaring out (ie starting bigger) and the later being non flared (ie staying the smaller constant size), then how does going from the flared to non flared actually change the throttle bodies performance?
Or am I missing something here?

Cheers

i think what the difference is (don't quote me on this) is that the gen 2 'funnel' extends past the flange for the throttle-body and has a small diameter ring that locates the 'funnel' within the throttle-body, the ATS one (or for that matter the one that bio has) does not have this and is larger in diameter than the 'funnel'.

w0n ive got a gen2 and its definately not tapered/funneled. the late model gen2's did not have this taper.

I beg and differ!

as far as i've seen, all the gen2's i've come across have had this tapered inlet funnel

If the issue is this lip that extends inside the throttle body (which can be confirmed by sticking your fingers down the mounted trumpet), then why cant you just file/grind/sand this protrusion off?

Cheers
