Thats a good solution, very secure and hidden.

This is what it looks in the cabin behind the seat (there is a nylock nut behind the carpet):

This is the bolt and washer on the engine bay side (if you're confused with the orientation of the photo, the point where the cross brace attaches is at the top right, and my bolt is near the bottom to the left of the existing hole which was related to the mounting of the stock airbox I think):

Thanks w0n, seeing a photo of it makes it very tempting, as it is such a simple mod. I gave this some thought already, and it's basically a trade-off between better control at low throttle openings (which I like), or slightly more peak power. I'll decide in the next day or two. Unfortunately my stock one has already been sent off to be ceramic coated, but maybe if I'm lucky they may not have done it yet.

If you get a throttle adaptor, I will take one also :)

BTW I have been chasing Shine and hopefully they will get back to me today.

I had a talk to my mech today about the intake manifold/plenum and throttle body inlet.

I am now considering getting this (as suggested by w0n):

And this:

I've emailed ATS with some questions, but perhaps there will be some people on here who can answer them for me. Remember that my engine is a 1990 Gen 2 3SGTE.

Firstly, does anyone know how the ATS replacement throttle body inlet (the first link above) achieves a higher diameter? Is it simply because it doesn't have the locating 'lip' like the stock one does?

Secondly, when using the ATS throttle body inlet, possibly in combination with their modified intake manifold/plenum (the second link above), can my stock 1990 Gen 2 throttle body be retained, or would I need a new one with a larger diameter? Just to confirm, my stock TB appears to have a 55mm butterfly or maybe a bit smaller, and 56-57mm diameter at each face of the TB.

If no one has any definite answers on here that's OK, hopefully I'll hear back from ATS tomorrow anyway.

In unrelated news, I'm expecting the correct Full Race exhaust manifold to arrive later this week, so my mech will be able to continue working on my car again!

you could just buy a 92 model throttle body and inlet setup to achieve the same goal.

you wont notice a differenc ein response imho.

I already did (as I mentioned above), but I thought there might be people on here who have already been through this and would therefore know the answers.

The ATS inlet fits on the 90 3sgte TB. I had one many moons ago.
Get em to send a new TB gasket with it for good measure.
