Hey guys,

Been shopping around for ages and finally found a clean turbo mr2.

Flew down to Melbourne and picked it up from a lovely chap named Josh, and drove it up to Sydney on Christmas day on an unregistered permit. While the drive is supremely boring I had a blast in the car. It's very fast, no hiccups at all.

There's still a lot of work to be done on it, namely getting it registered and back on the road (getting a blue slip today). I want to swap out the steering wheel and clean up some of the blemishes on the body for starters.

Photos to follow!

Looks good and welcome! Has it had a full respray or just the side mouldings?

Thank you :)

I'm not sure to be honest. Paint is in good condition minus the front bumper which is a different shade of white.
Just went to get my blue slip and failed on the exhaust, way too big and loud :(

Ah thats a shame, could try some bolt-in silencers to pass blue?
Can always take them out later if you feel like it

Looks great. Will it be a daily driver?

I went to one exhaust shop today and they said they couldn't fit a silencer on it because there was no room apparently.. I'll try a few more shops but if that's the consensus, I might need to source a stock turbo exhaust for the blue slip.

@Lumix it will be a daily driver :)

I'm referring to the small cone type ones that just slide in to the exhaust tip, not a cut and weld job and fairly easily reversible.

Welcome & congratulations on your purchase.
I'm sure you will have lots of fun.  Hope to see you at some of the NSW activities.

Ah I see. Any recommendation as far as brands go?

Also quick update..

I drove 900km without a hiccup, then I drive 10 mins to my local exhaust place and this happened :(
My dad's a mechanic, so he's going to help me sort it out on Monday. Hopefully I can get it fixed and registered early next week!
