Hi Guys,

Im trying to replace the brake pads on the 1991 hard top turbo and am having some issues finding the right part numbers
I order TWR DB1227 for the front and DB1260 for the rear.
The rears fitted fine, but the DB1227 is the incorrect part for the front

What front pads do i need??

Also on a completely unrelated note, anyone need a spare set of db1227 front pads? :P

Thanks
Andy

DB1227 should be the correct for that yr.  Unless they have been upgraded to the later front callipers (v22)

If that's the case you will need a pair of DB1352 front pads.

Thanks Carmikey,
I wasnt aware of having any brake upgrade on the car, but looking at the DB1352 part online, it looks very similar to what i have.

Thank you for your help,

One last question, any idea how i can tell if I have the later brakes install on the car?

Your front calipers will have V22 marked on them (as Mike said) if they're the later model and have been upgraded. The rears are different to the earlier ones, but use the same pad (DB1260).

So if the caliper says V22, go DB1352
If it doesn't, DB1227
Rears are DB1260

You can also measure the rotors to determine early or later brakes.

SW 20 Larger '92+ brakes:
front rotors [275mm x 30mm]
rear  rotors  [280mm x 22mm]

SW 20 Early smaller brakes:
front rotors  [258mm x 25mm]
rear rotors   [262mm x 16mm]

Front pads for the larger brakes are different to those for the smaller brakes.
Rear pads are the same for both the larger and smaller brakes.
