I don't think wheel and tyre size needs to be restricted for aw11 class. For a 1.6 na, putting on 305 wide tyres will probably be slower than stock sized ones. Just stipulate street tyres only, so no slicks or semi slicks. Any size ok. Makes it easier for people who already have bigger wheels.

That is a very good point Adrian. Smaller is quicker with the lower powered cars. As long as its easy, I'm ok to work something out.

I did notice that i had to improve my braking when i watched the video myself. I did try third a few times earlier on, but with the power of the Beams at the top end of the rev range it seemed better in second. That being said, i only tried third when i was still learning the track, and i'm now probably carrying more corner speed with the improved confidence that i gained throughout the event, so carrying third makes more sense now.
I'll have a lot better tyres next year as well (assuming you allow 17" wheels and tyres in the street class lol) so i'll have to use third anyway with the expected improvement in corner speeds.
Thanks for the feedback - I don't really know what i'm doing lol.

Don't worry mate we are all very similar in skill! A instructor did say 'make the corner as short as possible' so you have more track to be accelerating or decelerating which is where the speed is. Watch some of Ian, Adrian footage as they have far more laps than most at Wakefield.

Don't pay too much attention to the speed display, it's not 100% synchronised with the video, so it shows speed decreasing when i was actually accelerating. I haven't mastered getting everything synced properly with the software i'm using. You'll probably notice that the sound doesn't match the vision either. (especially noticeable on gear changes..)
I will definetly be watching more footage before next year. I don't expect to be great, as long as I'm having fun! In true Top Gear fashion, i don't mind being 'ambitious but rubbish' lol.

I know its hard to believe, but I now have the awards for 2015 in my possession.
Adrian has received his, Stuka's has been sent, the rest will be sent this week aside from the NSW winners as a meet will be organised.
It will be at Cricketers Arms behind Blacktown drive-in. They have great food and beer (what a surprise..), the option to cook your own steak for $10-$15 which is worth the effort, they have two open fire places and some rooms with some great tables to sit and talk. How 2015 ran and some idea's of 2016 will be discussed.
There is also plenty of parking. Date is to be confirmed but will be in the next two weeks.

Cheers

Steve
