G’day fellas
im looking at trying to get my Greddy PEX exhaust system repaired.
The problem is the insides of the muffler system itself has seen better days and I can feel the baffling making all sorts of noise inside the actual muffler and in turn causing my car to perform poorly and also become a bit louder
I would like to keep the current exhaust/mufflers due to it being so rare.
we all know what the exhaust looks like and being the shape it is (round canon like style) im not too sure if they can be done or not 9dont mind the back portion thats not visible being cut and shut)
Has anyone successfully repaired/replaced the insides of the mufflers before, if so what’s involved and is it a very expensive exercise
Prefer a mob in Melbourne to deal with
Cheers

No good, tried on a PP exhaust once and that ended in tears. buy a new one or a better used one.

ahh crap that sucks then. trying to find a used one is nearly impossible, new one not going to happen cause they dont make them anymore
ill have a look around i guess, dylan had one for sale a while ago, only one muffler is bad so hopefully can find a matching pair in good shape
cheers

why?? make it louder?
the fujitsubo and PP exhaust can be opened afaik cause they have the seams whewre the two ends of the shhet metal join on the muffler
the PEX one i have doesnt have anything like that, its like a canon so looks like im [link=mailto:f@rked]f@rked[/link] regardless

Not louder as I need a quiet exhaust, but to see if it can be made to flow better as I lost around 4-5psi and 40rwkw over the ebay one

You could try Trikfab in Dandenong, that's who's done lots of my stuff and pretty sure them make custom mufflers

The perforated tubes break and drop into the cannisters. This allows all the packing to then be blown out.

ok, just an update on this found one of the bolts on the exhaust join to the dump pipe had come loose causing the whole rattling sound. i did however bang on the muffler cans and can still hear the insides makign a bit of noise  but its sounding much better so may get some more use out of it afterall.

cheers
