If you are serious Headgasket sent me an email to jamescol(AT)optusnet.com.au  and I'll send through the list of parts that I sent to a bloke who was talking about chasing 450rwhp.  I did a list with the cheapest bits I would recommend and then a list including components I have here that were for my aborted project.  Using my parts (and ending up with a substantially better package) was about $2k more expensive then using my minimum recommended spec items.  I am certainly somewhat negotiable though if someone is buying a large quantity of parts from me.

Make sure you are serious first, because I fear I was just wasting my time last time around, which is cool to do once, but will become frustrating if I waste my time with 10 different people.

Don't mean to jack the thread, but this is actually really relevant to me at the moment! Trying to sort out how much money I'm looking at saving for a 250rwkw+ build, the car will be daily driven so I need it to be reliable.. Would it be possible for anyone to give me a fairly detailed list at what I'm looking at parts wise? Parts and prices sort of thing?
Open to any recommendations for turbo charger choice, injectors, cams, fuel pump, intercooler setup, pistons and conrods and especially the tuning side of it.. I've heard a lot of good things about the Megasquirt EFI's!
I've already got a short list going, I just want to get a few opinions.. Things that you would personally use on your own car.

For now I'm only really looking at getting a list so that I know what I would need to save..

This is my 250rwkw build (starting with a gen3 motor), its been 30,000 kms since the rebuild and I haven't had any major issues, so fairly reliable so far.

Rebuilt motor with CP pistons and Eagle Rods
1mm Oversize Ferrea valves
Garrett GT3076R twin scroll turbo @ 21psi
HKS 264 cams on HKS valve springs
800cc SARD injectors
Greddy Pro Spec B II EBC
Apex'i Power FC & Commander Tuned by HITMAN
Berk Technologies Dump pipe
Hi-Tech Mufflers' 3" Exhaust
Apex'i Air Pod
Border top mount intercooler
TRD Radiator Cap -> Rice

The rebuild parts aren't expensive for a 250rwkw, we have a package selling for about $1250 for pistons/rods/gaskets/water pump/oil pump.

Thanks for getting back to me dylmrt!

Thats basically what I was looking at having for my setup, although I have looked into replacing the intake plenum and getting a larger throttle body as well. And a 255LPH Walbro.
In your opinion, what would be the way to go about squeezing just a little more power out?

Also remember to budget for the other things like a decent clutch, grippy tyres, fuel pump and all sorts of other bits and pieces you don't know you need until you need em :)

Thanks for the reminder Mrskylighter, I have tried my best to factor all of those things in before doing any work on the engine ;) Well, besides the clutch.. Cause I don't wanna be dropping the engine every chance I get! Haha!

The set I'm running is good for more power that's for sure. Most of the issue comes in the intercooling. If I could keep my temps down, the power goes up automatically. W2A would probably work best for that. Realistically if i went down the W2a path, I should be pusing upto 280rwkw with that turbo.

And yes, I have the 255lph walbro (we sell these for $115 each) in there as well, not to mention 265 wide tires at the back ;)

Ahh okay, that's fair enough! I've been looking into the cooling system a lot too.. I really want the simplicity of an A2A cooler. And I stumbled across a kit by EMS Powered, in the States, that is supposed to be rated for 450RWHP! Do you think this would be possible, for a side mount intercooler to be able to keep the intake air cool enough?

Also, isn't the GT3076R rated at 525HP or 390KW?
If I was looking to push a little bit more out of the engine, would I be better off paying a little more and purchasing a GTX3076R?

I think the 390KW you are referring to is a theoretical maximum power at the flywheel. So not what your going to get in the real world especially using pump fuel.

That side mount cooler would probably handle 250KWs but only for a short period of time. Maybe one blast through the gears and it would be heat soaked. I think around 200-220KW would be its max.

And from what I've read about the GTX turbos is that the benefit is only realised when you increase the boost quite high. Running E85/race fuel etc. I could be wrong on this though.

If you want to push more out of the engine move up to the next turbo size. Something like a GT35R. Will be laggy on a 2L engine though.

I didn't realise that it would be such a massive difference between the theoretical maximum power output at the actual day to day output!

I didn't think it would be possible to handle that much power!

Ahh okay.. Damn! I wouldn't be surprised if you hit the nail on the head in saying that.. The differences between the two are quite minor when you think about it! Although, I have heard that they spool a couple hundred RPM sooner.

Not really keen on the lag that will come into play when using that sized turbo! :(

What is/was your 316kw setup Mrskylighter?
