Hi Forum

I am asking for volunteers to be part of a new website and youtube channel I am planning to launch.

I will be launching the Average Joe Car Show channel and website in the coming months. The aim of the show is to review sports and performance cars available to people on a modest budget. I will be doing car reviews, topics on car culture and car history. There is a lot of people reviewing new cars, but not many talk about the classic gems that the majority of people are still interested in.

My goal is to show my belief that cars from at least the 80s on still compete and in many cases put to shame modern cars. I will be showing cars that can be had for below $10 000, as I think that is the absolute limit people looking to buy a first or additional car can afford. If you disagree please let me know It will be great to get some feed back.

All generations of MR2 fit into this group..... just. I would love to get a good example from each generation and review it. As many know I have a Aw11 SC so that will be a topic I can cover myself. I would love though to review and road test the NA AW11, SW20 and Spyder variants. I would be looking for examples close to stock, as these would be the best gauge of the cars potential.

Anyone interested in helping please just post below. Im not planning to film in the near future, at this point im getting a gauge of how many people would be willing to participate. I live in Sydney and at this time I don't plan to travel interstate for filming, but depending on response I could be persuaded.

Thank you all.

Sounds like a fantastic idea...maybe you could get carsales or gumtree to sponsor it?

Ill look into that once I have content I think. At the moment Im not trying to make money, I just want to share my passion for cars like the MR2.

Im over seeing reviews of the newest Italian and German super cars. Yes they are fantastic to watch, but everyone is doing the same thing again and again. More people buy and trade cars  under the 10 grand mark than any other price range. The majority of people wont gain any actual help from these reviews.

I want to provide these reviews and content. Before I went to buy my MR2 I found very little content on the Car but one really bad 80s review comparing it to the pontiac fiero. I wanted to make sure I was spending my money wisely and would get a car that I would enjoy into the future. In the end the only way I could way up the car was to waste the time of some sellers of Adubs to get a test drive.

I think the web is overdue for a show like this.

You'll need to get support from the Nissan/Mitsubishi/Subaru crowd as well to make it work.

I plan to do just that. I already have all ready been in talks with some Mazda forums. I have lined up time with a MX5 and RX7 FC. I would love to start of though with the car I am so fond of, the MR2.

I think the popularity of shows like Mighty Car Mods is a testament to how people want content on affordable sports/ performance cars. As much as modding is fun, I want to focus on the decisions that lead people to by a car. I am looking to focus on the pre-modding stage if you will.

If any one is interested in having their car featured please let me know.

Oh wow a manual in this country that is a rare car.

I would love to do a piece on the Spyder. Considering how modern they are in comparison to the other generations now, I would be great to show that you dont need to go back to far to find affordable sport car fun.

When it comes time to film I will drop you a message.

Thank you so much for the contribution.

if you are doing car reviews with people in mind for wanting to purchase a car I always thought you would need to be more objectified about the car? isn't getting owners who love their MR2's to say why they love their MR2's just going to end up as a fanboy act?

Like I love my MR2 and could never consider owning a make thats not toyota. so an opinion like that won't really help people pick a good used car to buy. Is it safe to assume you are doing this to assist people in knowing which classic car to buy?
