Hello guys, the car is an mr2 turbo sw20 with an ACT heavy duty clutch and genuine toyota TOB installed a year ago.

driving home last monday cruising at 60km/hr slowing down into third gear thru a roundabout, i lost clutch pedal pressure, just went soft but still engaged into gear. it was soft for a good minute. pulled up the road gave it a few pumps and it went back to firm feel but it wasnt as crisp as it was before it feels a bit spongy.

whether the car(engine) is running or not(engine off), i hear a metallic noise as soon as i let off the clutch pedal. i could feel the vibrations thru the pedal. the clicking metallic noise is clearly coming from between  the slave cylinder/fork/pivotball/TOB. i had a mate pressing on the clutch while i hold onto the fork and i could feel the vibration only when clutch pedal is released.

heres the dillema, clutch noises and spongy pedal feel aside everything works as it should. gear changes are smooth and pecise(no crunching nor grinding) car drives fine no slipping.TOB doesnt whine or make noises, it holds the power as it normally does. which leads me to believe theres nothing wrong with the clutch itself. but its just annoying knowing these 2 issues are there all day eeerday. as much as i dont want to pull the box out looks like i'm going to have to for piece of mind.

maybe the pivotball under the fork has dried up and rusted to hell and needs greasing? fork is ****ed? could the slave be making this noises?? maybe flush and bleed the clutch fluid while im there?

bloody hell Haunted hills coming up soon and i get this, i already missed out on the last one as the duece developed some problems back then lol

What are ur thoughts Ladies and Gentlemen?

My e153 has started to do something similar. As I release the clutch something is making a clicking sound in or around the slave cylinder. I can slightly feel it throughout he peddle.
Doesn't seem to affect clutch operation at all but is bothering me. I'm thinking of buying a new slave cylinder to replace the current one.
Mine at the moment does not have the rubber bellows fitted and is looking a little rusty on the end of it.

yeah what ****s me is like u said it doesnt affect clutch operation but the noise bothers me. it would be so much easier decision to pull the box out if the clutch itself is toast. we all know the amount of work involved compared to an FR layout haha
