It very similar to what I meant but instead of mounting at the top of the cage, it is mounted inline with the intrusion bar which is a lot lower in the car. As for the second bar on the strut tower which goes from the bottom of the cage to the tower, Im not 100% on doing this as the bar mounted from the intrusion to the engine mount should act as the same thing. Its not for impact protection, but to minimise movement of the engine/running gear under load. Both up and down,twist and lateral movement.
I will be installing this system int my car in a few weeks s will add some pic's to help understand what I mean.

Well i haven't really posted any pics up for years and years of my MR2 which was a street car but has now become a race car, well one day i hope it will be finished and driving.
 
Ill start up a build thread soon i hope, but the car for a long time untill recently was just a chassis, everything stripped off it (no motor, no interior, no wiring, no brakes ect just metal and some panels on the outside, but now im at the point of putting the car together there will actually be things to take pictures of!
 
But heres a little sneak peak of the car, well i suppose you cant really see much, except the air jacks im testing.

That is such a cool looking car and the air jack is something else. You are welcome to tow the car up to the MR2 trackday challenge to show it off! would love to see it on display.
