Thought this was worth sharing to hopefully save anyone who's not sure if they should put some sway bar re-inforcement plates on their Sdub.
I never considered it a high priority as all I'd ever seen was pics of cracks around the mounts.
This is what happened while I was driving around with my suspension set on stiff and good semis front and rear...
Ripped the sway bar mount right out of the chassis
This was the bit still attached to the sway bar, there was a chunk of metal completely missing from the chassis rail
Patched up the missing section
Patched with a knocked up replacement piece running down the left. (those welds were ground flat before the reo plates went on!!)
All finished and re-inforcement plates mounted
The drivers side mount had cracks all around it also, so it was welded up and ground back too.
