Yesterday I asked Mr2boost who is in the US if he had any video footage of his converted lhd MR2 with a quick steer pinion. Here's what he had to say.

"I am sorry, but I do not.

BUT, my son-in-law has a stock 1991 MR2 turbo that is exactly like my 1991 MR2 turbo (well his is SMG & mine is CR & his has a slightly different stereo & his has fog lights - other than that all the same options).

We auto-cross regularly & the benefits of the pinion in AX is dramatic. I know I prefer to drive mine over his because it is easier to slalom with mine (& he agrees). It takes the lock to lock turn from around 3.5 turns to around 2.6 turns & the steering "feel" is better too.

Also, I hope to get a GoPro camera soon & I will then post up some video showing me in the AX & then him & show how the steering wheel is moved back & forth. So, thanks for the idea.

But, sorry I don't know of any videos off hand & mine will have to wait till around Christmas probably for me to get the GoPro.

Daniel".

This is what Blue Bomber had to say on mr2oc.com about his lhd quick steer pinion.

"I've got a quick ratio pinion, too, and it's one of the best mods I've done to my car. Makes the car feel so much more agile and responsive. If you've ever driven a Mazda3 or 00+ Celica, they're very similar in ratio."

I would like to note that SFLee is the latest MR2 owner to put down a deposit for the upgraded pinion. Thank you SFLee.

Hi Marty,

How many do we need to go ahead.  I'm still keen for one of these however have been damned busy with life and other things, and as such, the MR2 has taken the back seat.  Should be good around christmas though to get a deposit in and will see if I can drum a couple of others up.

Regards,

James.

Hi James
I just need four more people and this group buy can go ahead. There is a guy in the UK that sent me a message yesterday showing a lot of interest in the product.

Because of the long distance, I think it would be better for you guys to buy the upgraded parts and assemble the pinion yourselves. Though I am still offering to have them assembled, it would mean longer down time for your MR2.
