Sound like it will be a good trip!

Really excited for this, I'm very keen to do as many tracks as possible this time.

Tents, sleeping bags, etc could be challenging in the MR2's....... just sayin.....

it's amazing how you can fit it all in. been right around oz in a aw11 and across countless times.    though i would love to build a tear drop camper to tow behind on the long trips for added comforts. haha

Thanks mate,

I will do my best but we have a great crew which make it a reality. If I can get the timing right, we will do:
  • The open practice day at SMP ($160)no staffing at this one, just come and drive with everyone
  • Dinner at Cricketers Arms which is behind the track
  • Then a timed sprints at Marulan (140km south and $160) which is run by the facility. Again no staffing just join in for a fun day. This will be the first round of MTC 2017
  • Rest the night then drive to Broadford for a few days for the third leg of MTC 2017
  • Rest day
  • Sandown for the fourth leg of MTC 2017
  • Finish at PI (based on what we can organize with another crew)
I figure we will need some sort of support vehicle to carry everyone's gear who cannot fit it in a MR2. We should be able to sort this out.

I wonder if I could offer a few laps in my car to the winner of MTC 2017? Would that help motivate people to take on such a big commitment (and I do not mean being pushed around the carpark by everyone else!)?

I don't think it will be as tricky as previous years. There is no real management for the first two stages. The Broadford Circuit will be easier to manage than Wakefield and Sandown is just the full circuit for the day. we also do not have to manage the bbq, accommodation as we do at the cabins which takes a lot of pressure away from people. Still, there will be enough to keep us busy!

just wondering how this will go with cars lasting for all these events. The third day this year died in the ass numbers wise. As much as I would love to have a crack at this , committing to this many days and travel/ time off work and $$$$. Especially if car has problems at an early event is a Big ask.

I'd love to make the trip, no matter how long it takes. It could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
It would be great if it was the week after Easter, then i could head to Dubbo first for the Toyota Nationals over Easter, then continue on to SMP and the rest of the tracks... It would be a great adventure for us SA guys. When we're already travelling so far, its worth doing as much as we can. I travelled nearly 5000kms for MTC 2016 and spent a few extra days looking around Canberra and then Bathurst.
Just my opinion of course
