I do not believe MTC needs to change anything at Wakefield Park aside from securing a fair deal for everyone involved. Timing for the event would be the only aspect that needs to be changed.
Having MTC in any other state would effect a number of entrants so it needs to be centred around its current location.

As the MR2 Nationals are held in 2017, we need to keep this in mind for consideration of dates so there is no issue of effecting peoples budget of time and money for either event.

Having a MTC style event in S.A. for the week of the MR2 Nationals would really bolster the numbers for the MR2 Nationals and allow us to run a decent two-three day, multistage event for all involved. I have established contact with Mallala and inspected the facility, have secured a respectable price with management. Just need to see if we can camp at the track which would make for a great few days away.
It is possible to run something similar to Wakefield as there is a fantastic skid pan as well as the track itself. This could be backed up with use of one or two of the local hill climbs so there is some great potential there for varied events.
Its something I would really enjoy doing for the Victorian and South Australian crew.

Another option is incorporating MTC2017(at Wakefield) around MR2 Nationals. We have our MTC meet then all drive to Adelaide for a day or two of driving. This would save a second trip for all the interstate people. The only problem I have with this is my mental energy as I am usually pretty exhausted by the Tuesday night..

I like the idea of having an event arround the same time as the nationals, as it means we would be closer to SA.

I better pack 3 or 4 alternators if thats the case

Definitely want an MTC2017. I would travel but do think the setup at Wakie cant be beat. Being close to nationals may work for me as could go track car at MTC and then drive road car to SA.
Wouldn't mind having a go at Winton and have an Uncle that lives at phillip Island so that's on the bucket list.

How many miles per volt do you get?

Well considering my new alternator just died again, I get about 1500kms per alternator.

Like the others I would prefer for MTC to remain at Wakefield.

If MTC2017 is held somewhere other than Wakefield, how can we improve on this year's times?

If Wakefield management are not willing to offer a discounted rate due to the time of year, then Spring or Autumn would be ideal. Pre/post MR2 Nationals in SA is also an excellent idea to combine and break up the journey.

As Rick also mentioned, increased cost won't prevent me from attending as it is excellent value for money, it will only make it slightly more difficult to convince more Queenslanders to attend.
