Then its TOYOTAFEST 2018 hosted by Toymods, no awards for the shrinking violet but in my mind she still looked $1,000,000. The club had a pre-meet and it was a fantastic turn out for MR2's with over 10 cars it was the most popular make at the show, even more than the corrolla so well done team:

I WENT TO JAPAN!!!

My now fiance and some friends all went over together for some motoring fun and lifetime experiences. I rented a Honda S660  after always wanting to drive one and was pleasantly surprised. It was a capable little car with great punch but no top end sadly, needs a bigger turbo but still awesome fun in the bends with AD08's on all 4 it was a weapon on the mountain pass. We took it to Daikokufuto and saw some awesome cars. I was joined by Faceplant (an his now fiancee) from MCM in an AE86 that he bought and another friend who was able to borrow an NB MX5 from Iron Cheff imports as he bought a crown weeks prior:

At Tsukuba raceway, not on track as it was a rental:

Still at tsukuba I spotted a couple of SW20's at the motorkhana behind the racetrack. I met one of the owners but the language barrier was difficult. All I got was that he could probably drift my S660 if I gave him the keys and the rental car company I used was famous in japan. Omoshiro rentals (highly reccomended). On that point I also reccomend getting a ToCoo card to put into the ETC reader, you get cheaper tolls and easier than having to stop at each gate and supply cash.

After this I proposed to my now fiancee in the Bamboo rainforest and she said YES! so thats awesome but this is a car forum so back to it. Days following we went to the Toyota Gazoo motor racing festival at Fuji Speedway and I can't tell you how moving it is to be at the place where hundreds of historic F1 races have taken place and for it to be filled with awesome cars was amazing. There was 15 LFA's 15!!!! and over 20 Toyota 2000GT's I was in awe and was an amazing day out. We saw the CEO of Toyota's Gazoo Racing Century and the A90 before it was released to public:

Finally we stopped at MegaWeb to do as all MR2 owners do.. Pay homage to the legendary 222D:

It was an amazing trip! Highly Reccomended.

Back in Australia with my car looking awesome it's time I fixed the god aweful rims on the car and begin:
THE MAGMAN SAGA

A Magman Workshop for wheels was recommended to me by fellow club members as I had some Volk AV wheels that had seen better days and I needed someone to refurbish them:

I contacted Magman and he told me 1.5 weeks and I provided him 2 assembled wheels and 2 disassembled wheels as I was going to try it myself. 3 weeks had passed so I called magman (Gregory John Boness, if anyone knows where he is let me know) and he said that he was being evicted, he had done no work on my wheels and needed me to pick them up. Annoyingly I took the day off work to get them and HE LOST A CRUCIAL BACKING PLATE I told him that it was needed and RAYS do not make spare parts.

Being a solicitor I sent him a letter of demand and he vacated his premises and blocked me on facebook. I took his sorry ass to NCAT (NSW Tribunal) and obtained full judgement for the cost of the rims as one piece could not be replaced and therefore the entire set was useless. Here is a smug photo of my obtaining full judgement:

Sadly as he didn't show up and hasn't updated his address with any authorities I cannot find him to get my money off him and he doesn't look like he's showing up anytime soon. As I had no other options I undertook to repair the wheels myself and the following images document my work. I dissembled, sanded, repaired, painted, polished and cleaned up the rims and now they look amazing:

I wrapped them in 215/40/17 and 245/40/17 Yokohama Advan Fleva's which stick to the road like glue! I'm very happy with their performance and would rate them higher than RE003 tyres:

Sadly my Volk AV wheels did not come with the centre caps and as they're hard to track down I got a mate to 3D print me some and another mate to graphic design some stickers for them:

I also got Sydney Guard Rolling to roll my guards and pump them slightly as the new wider tyres did give me some scrubbing. Some bog fell off in the process but they look better now:

You have had a eventful time over the last months!

How long did you have the S660? How did you manage the transport of luggage in the S660? They have 0 storage. Haha. I would love to drive one. I owned a S600 coupe, blast to drive but scary as hell driving on the road with large more powerful modern cars.

The car is looking amazing. Good job restoring the volk wheels.

Yep really neglected the forum but it has been a wild ride. Had the S660 for 4 days and used transport the rest of the time. It was only a novelty car so we didn't use it to transport luggage it had space for a shopping bag and a jumper in the frunk when the roof wasn't stowed in there but other than that very difficult car to live with. Lots of fun, you can wind down the window at the back to get more engine noise it's amazing fun haha and a little digital boost gauge when you put it in race mode.

Thanks man, I did get some satisfaction out of restoring the wheels myself and they look awesome now so I'm happy saved some money and got judgement for way more haha just need to collect it off the guy when I find him.

What did you do about the backing plate?

A mate from Toymods has a CNC machine and offered to have one made up for me out of billet aluminium using another as a template. Only cost me a carton as well. Realtivly simple job really as cut washers would have done the same job.

Wow, you have had a bit going on haven't you, its nice to see that those wheels ended coming up so nicely in the end though, oh and how did the bolts come up what did you do with them in the end?
Have you thought about a slightly lower ride height for your car? if you went the coilover route and went with KW coilovers you could also fit their HLS which gives you up to 45mm of lift to negotiate steep access areas.

This is what I am planning to fit to my new toy.

Hi Falcon, I don't think its the place to go detracting from Matt's thread with my non MR2 content.
Might add a thread in the non Toyota discussion about it.
