Perhaps, I just have the stock ECU and the GFB Electronic Boost Controller does all the turbo management. It's odd that it still gives me above stock pressure but not what the Boost Controller is set at. I guess if it pulls timing for one of those things then there won't be the pressure for the turbo to spool up? I'm clearly not an expert with these matters and got no idea who I should talk to haha. I've sent GFB a message and may speak to my tuner although his response is just going to be -> New ECU.

Mark's a smart man, listen to him :P
Grab an Adaptronic M1200, Rob can help you get it up and running.

I got no idea when it comes to ECU's lol too much info that I need to learn. I was going to go megasquirt, then haltech, then adaptronic before Mark convinced me to use Link as he prefers it and feels they're easier to use. Having Rob know the software  of an adaptronic is a massive plus though.

I'd recommend the Adaptronic purely because of the Rob factor.

I have used both depend if you want to use a plugin or not? The links does have more option example 3 and 4d Maps, has better setup function, but does cost more for the unit as you will need to buy a map sensor.

When it comes to ECU's I'm largely motivated by cost. The link plug and play easy is extremely tempting but not sure how user friendly it is and its limitations. In any event the car drives fine and if the car is doing something to safeguard the engine then thats annoying but can only be good for it. I might change some vac hoses and do a once over around the wastegate/turbo to make sure there are no leaks or hoses that might be subject to perish from age.

Suspension is a first I think, especially if I'm to make it to WPC this year.

So at the last Toymods meet I discovered a concerning amount of oil coming off an inter cooler pipe after the turbo before the inter cooler and it was actually dripping onto the filter. Was strange since I don't have a boost leak but in any event I needed a catch can. Got a $60 billet one of eBay and installed it today.

I was going to put it where the resonator box used to be but it needs to be accessible so you can empty with oil changes. I liked the look of the spot where the charcoal canister is so I got some brackets from bunnings and moved the cannister down to make space and then hooked it up. Had a really hard time getting the tube onto the valve cover but the hose clamp will keep it where it is.

I also removed the stock resonator box as there is a myth that it saps power on turbo models. However, the stock resonator box also has a pipe that gets air from the side vent so I cut the box off the pipe and put a silicone joiner to cover the hole and re-installed the pipe so now it sucks air from the side vent instead of the engine bay.

The car is being 28 again and I found a split in the intake pipe that go's to the compressor. Used ones were $50 and a brand new one was $70 from Amayama so I got the new one. Installed it and while taking the old one off I found out how perished it actually was...

So forum use hasn't really been a thing for me over the past year. I'll be trying to do better and provide more regular updates. Anyway monster update incoming.

In March 2018 the NSW Club went to Hunter Valley Go-Karts go, we also got some AE86 guys to tag along so it was a great day out, would highly reccomend the very technical track:

Following this very sad news. My car was involved in an accident. A red P plater failed to give way turning right and the RE001's and ABS did their best but couldn't pull me up in time. I hit her with minimal damage, I suffered scratches to the front and a smashed fog light. NRMA refused to repair as there was pre-existing damage on the front bar and instead just paid me out. This was a blessing in disguise as I had turning fog lights they overquoted and gave me enough money to respray the entire front end and replace the light with an $80 one I found on ebay that also turns. I've never been so happy with how the car turned out.

I also bought an Aeroware front lip off Jaemus during 2-way radio banter on the blue mountains drive so I too the opportunity to have the paintshop paint it also:

After this with the car looking AMAZING! I took it to the Social Night for the NSW club with a great turn out:

I then realised the old dated blinkers no longer suited so I invested in some crystal clear ones aptly known as my 24 carat indicators:

With the front end looking how it should:

I started to suffer some odd boost issues where the car would limit to 10psi after harsh driving and this was most odd given I have a FCD and EBC controlling boost so it must be pulling timing to reduce boost. Not knowing what it is I just bought a new CT20b turbo :p

The turbo didn't come with a wastegate so I bought a new one from Mamba with an adjustable spring. Stupidly, I thought I'd increase the 12psi spring not realising it'd be fine and during the process I threaded one of the allen bolts. I changed it then realised that 12psi was actually a fine spring with the stock ECU and effectively sets the minimum boost level. So I got an easy out to get the bolt out and replace it back with the spring it came with:

One day I'll install the turbo but its just such a big job. Jaemus also got a CT20b at the same time and we're hoping to coordinate the install here's hoping we can both be bothered to do it soon.

I had also half-assed my install of my 3D printed EBC controller holder last time and simply put it in CF wrap without a heat gun. I took the opportunity to fix this and it's much nicer:
