I agree, it depends on the type of event and how long on the track you're going to be each session.
I rate EBC yellows, and highly rate Project Mu HC.
As mentioned above, hi-temp pads will need a warm up period (couple of laps including tyres warm up) before they reach their best operating temperature range.
Note that these pads are harsh on the rotors (and dusty), and they last longer at the expense of the rotors :)
