So a couple of other little things I have done to help tidy up the look of the car. I got my set of personalized plates for the car and I also did the quad tail light mod on the tail lights so I think that lifted the look of the car at night. I find it very strange the way Toyota had set up the tail lights from factory.

Any other plans for it? Maybe 17's, suspension & bolt on engine mods

Btw, if you're ever in Sydney for the monthly meet, it'd be really nice to see this in person.

Yeah I have a few plans, will slowly do a few mods, I am planning to change the wheels as soon as it is due for tyres I am thinking of possibly going for 18's got a couple of rims in mind that I am trying to decide between.
I have also been planning what I want to do tuning wise, I would like to upgrade the turbo, go to a WTA cooler and look at getting haltech engine management so I can get it remapped and take advantage of any engine upgrades.

So I had a little bit of scrubbing on the rear tyres when I hit bigger bumps or cornered hard and with future plans of fitting up a set of BC coilovers that I purchased and with plans to fit bigger rims later down the track I decided to get my guards rolled. I contacted Nelson from Sydney guard rolling and he fit me in on a Sunday to roll all four guards and I was quite happy with the job he did, the only hiccup is he found it was missing one bolt from the rear left trim strip and it is now sitting out a slight fraction just at the edge of the guard so I'm now just chasing up a new bolt for that.

Once my guards were rolled I was very keen to fit up my new coilovers and set up the car on stands and got to work.

Spent a few hours installing the BC's everything mostly went ok, the only issues I had were a couple of the sway bar link nuts that were seized and stripped out the alan key holes trying to get them undone.
once I had them all installed I set up the heights and then initially set up the shocks to front 10 clicks and rear 16 clicks which I had read someone else on the forum with BC's had set theirs to, but after driving it for a couple of days I felt the shocks were set slightly to soft and were not quite controlling the rebound enough so I have since adjusted them again to 15 clicks front and 21 clicks on the rear and so far I am happier with the feel of them on the road now.

Well this is not really an update but during the week we bought a new set of rims for our STi and whilst the weather has been a bit wet over the weekend I decided out of curiosity to steel one of the new rims off of the STi and see how it would look on the MR2.
I didn't mind the look of it but I think I will stick to what I originally wanted which is a rim with some dish.

Anyway here is how it looked (before my partner told me to put it back on the STi and to not get any ideas of steeling them..... lol)

I just did the analysis of my latest oil sample after giving the car a service on the weekend. I was curious to see the results of this engine oil sample as this is the first Valvoline oil sample since I switched from the Mobile ! that was previously being used.

I am very happy with the results as the indicated wear rate has actually reduced with the Valvoline Synpower oil.

Spent a little time today fitting up my new NRG quick release sheering hub adapter.
It took me a little extra time seeing as the short hub I bought seemed to be for the earlier version MR2 that still used a brass ring in the back of the boss for the horn contact, mine being a later JDM it had a sealed contact with a plug sticking out for the horn to plug into. So I was able to remove the brass ring out of the back of the short hub adapter and this gained me enough room to fit the short hub over the plug and then I just wired the horn into the existing plug. I did have to trim the plug down by a couple of millimeters but its all fitting nicely now and the horn working with no problems.

all in all I am very happy with the quick release and loving having a nice momo steering wheel to hold on to again.

Sorry the pictures are not the best quality.

Yeah seems to be the way with pretty much most mods these days! I think they just want to drive around in stock Prius's!
